Heguilung was born and raised in Beisumpuiloa, a small and vibrant village situated near the Ntangki National Park in the Peren District of Nagaland. He completed his higher secondary education (10+2) at the Government Higher Secondary School in Jalukie, Peren, laying a solid foundation for his future endeavors.

Driven by a deep sense of purpose, Heguilung pursued theological studies, completing his undergraduate education at Kohima Bible College. He further advanced his training by earning a Master of Divinity (M.Div) from the Mission International Graduate School of Missions in Dimapur, Nagaland.

Today, Heguilung actively serves his community in dual capacities that bridge spiritual leadership and environmental stewardship. He is the dedicated Shepherd at the Beisumpuiloa Baptist Church, providing guidance to his congregation. Alongside his pastoral duties, he is a passionate advocate for nature, actively serving as a Youth Partner with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) of India.
