Early Life and Digital Journey
Aien was born and raised in Mokokchung, where she grew up with a close connection to her community and to the natural landscape of Nagaland. She began her digital journey in 2016 with her YouTube channel, AIEN AMRI (Moringa Girl). It started with lifestyle content, beauty, fashion and local vlogs, and grew into a platform where she shared the culture of Nagaland, interviewed local personalities and promoted local businesses. Her Christian faith runs through much of her content, which she often uses to share messages of positivity and hope. Today the channel has more than 74,000 subscribers, making her one of the most followed digital voices in the state.
Environmental Activism and the Moringa Movement
Aien moved into full time environmental work during the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020. She helped found a forum called Nature, Pets Guardian (NPG) in Nagaland alongside her mentor, Dr. Leban Serto. The group began with town beautification, clearing plastic waste and encouraging sustainable living through kitchen gardens. During this period Aien saw the potential of the Moringa tree, also known as the drumstick tree. Valued for its medicinal properties, its dietary benefits and its ability to restore degraded soil, the Moringa became the centre of her work.
Global Campaigns and Grassroots Impact
In July 2021, Aien and her team expanded their vision under the Global Campaign for Peace Education (GCPE) by launching the 10k+ Moringas in Southeast Asia initiative. The campaign went well beyond its early goals. In the first year the team planted more than 50,000 Moringa saplings, and in the second year another 50,000 across India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines and South Africa.
In January 2024 the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) joined the campaign and distributed high quality Moringa seeds across the state. Through this collaboration, more than 150,000 Moringa trees have been planted across Nagaland. Her aim is for every household in Nagaland to grow at least one Moringa tree.
Climate Action 2025
Her most ambitious project so far is Climate Action 2025, which set out to plant one million Moringa trees across Northeast India and the Himalayan Range Biosphere. The movement reached that milestone in 2025. To get there, she partnered with regional institutions including the North East India Christian Council (NEICC), Oriental Theological College, Hope Academy in Dimapur and Team PETA to widen her educational outreach on climate change.
Education
Aien completed Bachelor of Arts at Oriental College, Kohima. She went on to study at Clark Theological College in Aolijen, and studied Systematic Theology at the Kerdaino Spiritual Warfare Training School in Dimapur.
Present Work
Alongside her campaigns and content, Aien serves as a Counsellor in the Medical Department.
